The Narrow Gate

I do not know why you should strive
With a sinner such as I
To plant my life in perfect grace
To grant a single eye
To bring me to this narrow gate
Where all my bags must stay
Outside the door
Where glory waits
Unseen by passers-by
And if the veil should stretch so thin
Yet not be torn at last
A revelation growing dim as future becomes past
I know that my Redeemer lives
I ask—
Oh God I cry—
Please never Lord give up on me
Please never pass me by
Gather me again through trials
Or ever let me sigh
Until I walk into that place
Where none but they that die
Daily in obedience and trusting faith abide
Lord, make Your love so dwell in me
That I would heed the call
To persevere in knowing you
Until my all in all
Consumes me
Oh Consuming Fire
I love you- Draw me near
So that the Lamb may use my voice to draw another
Clear, Living Water, Life
I am the Lamb's wife
Bring me into your chamber
I do not want to wait
Outside the narrow gate
