The Christian Poet

Howard Ballentine

About this Christian Poet:
I have been a widower for the past four and a half years. I am a Sunday School teacher and one who prays.

A Life Laid Down

A life laid down,
At His feet;
Peace and joy,
Softly meet.

This my hope,
This my prayer;
Casting to Him,
My every care.

A servant's heart,
Day after day;
Loving Him,
My only pay.

This my goal,
This my prayer;
In His garden,
I'll meet Him there.

A garden of love,
Resting in Him;
His cup of joy,
Filled to the brim.

In human terms,
Perhaps alone;
His love, however,
My powerful Stone.
