About this Christian Poet:
I am a stay at home mom with four sweet children. My husband and I have been married for almost nine years. I have been a private violin and viola teacher for over ten years, have performed in various orchestras, and have two music degrees. I’m presently teaching myself how to play the piano and enjoy writing poetry in the evening after my kids are in bed.
This particular poem has been a work in progress since I was eleven. It is the first poem I ever poured my heart and soul into and I am proud to say that now it is done.
Care
When memories of summer vanish from me
and raindrops weigh my leaves down in despair,
my spirits droop from torrents beating on me
and the blustering winds of autumn leave me bare.
When winter's icy fingers seize upon me,
my tender, naked branches shake in fear,
When heavy sheets of snow flakes press upon me
and the violent crash of burdened limbs draw near
I tremble weakly, but I still have hope.
For in the spring the sun's sweet warmth will shine.
Its saving rays will touch me with their hope
and melt away this burden which is mine.
From winter's bitter coldness I'll be free
and then I'll know the world does care for me.
