Who sponsors this contest?
The Christian Publishers Poetry Prize is personally sponsored by Nathan Harms, Founder and Executive Director of Utmost Christian Writers Foundation, as well as being funded by Utmost Christian Writers Foundation. This contest continues Nathan's vision to create an encouraging and rewarding environment for poets of Christian faith. His sponsorship of the Utmost Christian Poetry Contest for the past 8 years has assisted and rewarded thousands of Christian poets around the world.
Several years ago, Nathan noticed that a large number of poetry contest entries were written in a formal style, almost always rhyming, and often on specific religious themes. Because the Utmost Christian Poetry Contest does not often reward this poetry generously, it was Nathan's idea that Utmost Christian Writers should sponsor the Christian Publishers Poetry Prize specifically for poets who write traditional rhyming poetry on religious themes.
Over the past decade, Nathan has become well known for his dedication to Christian poets. He has also gained a reputation for his financial generosity to poets of Christian faith, awarding tens of thousands of dollars in cash prizes and other awards. |
